Hall of Fame Criteria

Purpose:
To establish an honor role of Athletes, Coaches, Teams and Builders.

Supervision and Control:
The supervision and control of the CBF Hall of Fame shall be under the Board of Directors of the CBF, and administered by a committee hereunder called &

The Hall of Fame Committee:
Shall consist of three (3) Members from the Board of Directors, appointed by the President of the CBF


Mandate of the Hall of Fame Committee:

To accept nominations by December 1st each year, study the nominations based on the established criteria, and submit the accepted nominations to the CBF Executive for approval .


Finances:
The finances of the Hall of Fame are the responsibility of the CBF


Nominations:
Successful applicants for the Hall of Fame will be inducted at the site of the Canadian Senior Championships each year. All applications approved by the Hall of Fame Committee shall be forwarded for final approval by the CBF Executive Committee.

Nominations may originate with a club, or an organization, in all cases, nominations must be approved by the provincial / territorial broomball governing body where one exists and the applicant is involved.

Written nominations must be accompanied by documents covering as much detail as possible along with the CBF Nomination Form. Such items as newspaper clippings, photographs etc. would add to the nomination.

Eligibility of Athletes for Nomination:
To be eligible for nomination an Athlete, must:
a) Have represented broomball with distinction in broomball competition or who, by example, has brought great credit to broomball and high respect for the individual.
b) Have participated in a minimum of five (5) National Championships.
c) Have been selected to a minimum of three (3) National Championship Allstar Teams.
d) Have been retired at least two (2) years from active competition.

Eligibility of Coaches for Nomination.
To be eligible for nomination a Coach, must :
a) Have coached in at least five (5) National Championships.
b) Have been retired at least two (2) years from active competition.

Eligibility of Officials for Nomination.
To be eligible for nomination an Official, must:
a) Have officiated at least five (5) National Championships.
b) Have been retired at least two (2) years from active competition.

Eligibility of Sports Builder for Nomination.
To be eligible for nomination a Sports Builder, must :
a) Have served in any capacity for a period of at least ten (10) years not necessarily consecutive, as a volunteer.
b) Have served at the provincial / territorial, and / or national level in an executive / official capacity a minimum of two (2) years.
c) Have displayed a high level of respect for the sport by players, coaches, officials, and fellow executive. Displayed an outstanding achievement in the development of programs or policies that have promoted the sport of broomball.

Eligibility of Teams for Nomination.
To be eligible for nominations a Team, must :
a) Be a club team that has won at least three (3) National Championships.
b) Has displayed a high level of respect other sport players, coaches, and officials.
Submit Nomination Form to the CBF office prior to December 1st.
